§ 9-462. Appeal of denial, suspension or revocation

  • After denial of an application for a sexually-oriented business license or a sexually-oriented business performer license, or after denial of renewal of a license, or suspension or revocation of a license, the applicant or person to whom the license was granted may seek review of such administrative action by the city council in accordance with the provisions of section 2-300 et seq. of the City of Costa Mesa Municipal Code. Any proceeding to appeal such decision to the city council shall be filed within seven (7) days of such decision. If the denial, suspension or revocation is affirmed on review, the applicant, licensee may seek prompt judicial review of such administrative action pursuant to California Code of Civil Procedure section 1094.5. The city shall make all reasonable efforts to expedite judicial review, if sought by the licensee.
