§ 2-185.2. Time for presentation of claims

A claim required to be presented pursuant to this article shall be presented not later than six (6) months after the accrual of the cause of action for death or for injury to person or to personal property or growing crops. A claim relating to any other cause of action which is required to be presented pursuant to this article shall be presented not later than one (1) year after the accrual of the cause of action. Unless otherwise required by state law, a cause of action shall be deemed to accrue immediately upon the occurrence of the event or transaction from which the damages allegedly arose.
