§ 14-28. Custodian of badges

  • (a) The chief of police shall appoint an officer of the police department to be the custodian of all badges and no official police officer's badge shall be distributed to any regular police officer, except by the custodian, who shall make a complete record of all badges so distributed, and shall distribute the same only in the manner prescribed to the persons mentioned in this chapter.

    (b) The custodian shall be responsible for the delivery of the badges, and it shall be his duty to recall any and all badges of persons who have severed their connections with the police department or who have retired on pension.
